ABOUT THE MATH DOCTOR

Selena Atkinson, a graduate of Emory University and the Carnegie-Mellon University, founded The Math Doctor in 1992.  She has a B.A. in math and economics, as well as a Master of Science degree.  The Math Doctor Learning Center was featured in Atlanta's A+ Education Guide in the January 2006 issue of Atlanta Parent Magazine.  

At the Math Doctor Learning Center, we aim to set the standard to which other students have to compare.  Our goal is to advance the student to stay ahead of the learning curve and the school curriculum.  Such advancement will not only solidify skills but also give your child the confidence to perform with ease.

Methods of teaching include drill and repetition, mastery learning, concepts, computation, and problem solving.  Student progress is tracked with parents and school teachers.  Over 80% of our students have improved their mathematics grade by at least one grade level over two reporting periods.

Our standardized test preparation courses feature comprehensive strategies for the math and reading sections of the exam.  Our students have a 90% success rate for passing the CRCT, and 80% have dramatically improved their SAT scores by 250 points, and more!
